About us

Our team currently consists of Meenal Raval and Tanya Seaman, who recently co-authored a Climate Action Platform for Philadelphia’s 2019 elections. One of the goals of this radio show is to discuss some of the ideas listed on the platform.

Meenal Raval has been actively promoting climate solutions since the 2015 Philadelphia Mayoral election and the discussions around an energy hub in Southport. In 2016, Meenal stepped up to help form the Northwest Philly Solar Co-op to encourage residential solar installations & to build a clean energy advocacy group. In 2017, Meenal invited friends to the initial gathering of Sierra Club’s Ready for 100 campaign in Montgomery County. To this day, she remains a catalyst for the Montco’s Ready for 100 team plus the Philly’s Ready for 100 team and leads to Solarize Southeast PA.

Today, she leads the effort against PGW’s proposed LNG project, as well as the No Single-Use Plastics campaign. Her weekly publication of climate-related events has kept area groups connected to each other’s efforts. For the 2019 local elections, she has developed a public calendar of events where people can meet candidates and push this climate agenda. Meenal can be reached at meenal.raval@gmail.com

Tanya Seaman earned her master in City Planning at the University of Pennsylvania, with an emphasis on public transit and active transportation. Soon afterward, she co-founded and directed PhillyCarShare, which became the largest nonprofit car-sharing organization in North America: it enabled 50,000 residents to give up or forego car ownership and saved the City of Philadelphia over $8 million, with 330 fewer vehicles in its fleet. Tanya plays an active role in her neighborhood – as a Tree Tender leader through the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, as a member of the South of South Neighborhood Association (SOSNA) zoning committee, Triangles Committee co-founder, economic development committee, and today as chair of SOSNA’s Vision Zero Committee. She is also a board member of the fledgling South Philly Food Co-op. Tanya currently works as an analyst in the freight-rail industry.
